Britt A.M. is a multi-disciplinary artist based out of Prince George, B.C. on the unceded, traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh. Britt brings a punk rock sense of urgency to her music, holding a melodic, guitar-driven net for her carefully crafted lyrics to land. Accompanied by some of Northern B.C.’s finest musicians, she is a force to be reckoned with onstage and with her band brings a memorable and kinetically-charged performance to every venue they play.

Having toured extensively and recorded two EP’s as a one-woman band, Britt A.M.’s first full-length, full-band studio album, Psychic Knots (released September 2019), peaked at number 24 on Earshot’s National Top 50 Radio charts and marked a new era for the artist and her ever-evolving sound. Recorded live off the floor with Connor Pritchard at Pulp City Music and backed by bandmates Nathan Kelly, Brin Porter, and Justin Gendreau, Psychic Knots is a heavier, riff-driven rock album that catches the chemistry and energy that Britt and her band are known for at live shows.

On the heels of the launch of Psychic Knots, Britt had plans. Plans to tour the album nationally! Plans to pump out the jams on any festival stage that would have her! Plans to sling tunes to whoever would listen, far and wide, for all of 2020! We all know what happens next, so let’s fast forward to a year later, when Britt finally emerged from the pandemic blues to pick her guitar back up and release How It’s Going (May 14, 2021). The two-song, self-recorded and self-produced release is a testament to isolation and making the most of what you’ve got when you’ve got it. Before long, and with the generous support of the Province of British Columbia and Creative BC, Britt recorded November 2021’s GOLD with producer Catherine Hiltz (Tegan and Sara, Rae Spoon, Jill Barber). The four-song EP has a spring in its step, illuminating a sweet, pop-driven sentiment that brings some easy listening to difficult times. GOLD’s diversion from Britt’s typically heavier tones landed a spot in Earshot’s Top Ten Radio Charts, a celebrated milestone for the artist and her bandmates.

Britt A.M.’s newest EP, “Immolation”, was released on March 24, 2023. Recorded live off the floor under the careful ear of Connor Pritchard at Pulp City Music, “Immolation” is a stylistically eclectic set of songs that ruminates on the discomfort of trying to heal old wounds and stay connected to a declining natural world while the internet delivers our deepest annoyances and fears at lightning speed. Backed by the skillful playing of Nathan Kelly on lead guitar, Brin Porter on bass, and Justin Gendreau on drums, “Immolation” starts gently with the vintage swing of “Bless the Moon”, ramping up through a series of progressively heavier songs until the blistering finale, “Block”. Britt A.M.’s presence on this EP leans into her love for being loud, while holding space for her old friend, mellow melancholy, setting the tone for her future appearances and releases.
